Thanks to Godehard Bruntrup for
this story.

The popular German Linux news site www.linux.de has for some years been
featuring the well-known line “Where do you want to go tomorrow?”
at the top of its home page.

Now Microsoft has demanded
that this slogan be removed. Pending further legal clarification on
possible violation of Microsoft’s trademark “Where do you want to
go today?”, the owner of the site Christian Huettermann has removed
the line and replaced it with a neat strike-through version.

A quick search of the WWW shows that hundreds of Linux sites are
using this same slogan.

Are we seeing a first trial-run of a legal crackdown on Linux by
Microsoft?

Here is Christian’s own
version of the story
. (In German.)
