Coming approximately three months after the 0.25.0 update, the MPV 0.26.0 release is here to upgrade the VA-API/VDPAU hardware decoding code, which now requires the FFmpeg 3.2 multimedia framework or a higher version, as well as to enable support for C plugins by default. MPV 0.26.0 also comes with Universal Windows Plaform (UWP) support using the libmpv library. However, it looks like some things were disabled in this new version, including DVB support as it’s no longer compatible with older kernels, and the built-in V4L TV support, which can be replaced with av://v4l2.
