MPV 0.10.0 is an important milestone in the development process of the cross-platform and open-source video player software, which is currently supported on all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as on the mainstream Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It adds numerous new features, such as uchardet support, support for reading cue sheets embedded in the tags of an MKV (Matroska) file, support for VideoToolbox hardware decoding, and the implementation of the fd:// protocol.
