Powered by the Ubuntu Snappy Core 16 operating system, which Canonical designed specifically for use in embedded and industrial devices, including single-board computers like the well-known Raspberry Pi, the small Dell Edge Gateway 3000 series come in three variants, each one targeted at a specific market. The three Dell Edge Gateway 3000 models that are currently displayed at MWC 2017 are Model 3001 for general-purpose energy management and industrial automation, offering a flexible I/O with a multi-function I/O port and programmable serial ports (RS-485/422/232).
