MX Linux 19.1 is here mostly as an up-to-date installation media for the MX Linux 19 “Patito Feo” series. However, it brings an important change, namely a brand new ISO image that includes newer kernel and graphics stack for newer AMD and Intel hardware. Called “Advanced Hardware Support” or AHS for short, the new ISO image accompanies the regular 64-bit and 32-bit ISOs, which include Linux kernel 4.19 LTS. In this release, the AHS ISO image ships with the long-term supported Linux 5.4 kernel and Mesa 19.2 graphics stack, which should support installations of MX Linux on newer computers.
