“As a virtual machine, VMware offers many features, notably the
ability to run Microsoft Windows applications on a Linux platform
at near-native performance. Multiple VMs can run simultaneously,
provided you have enough memory. With raw disk access, operating
systems on a multi-boot configuration can run without rebooting the
system.”
