Dubbed “The Scion,” OpenMandriva Lx 2014.2 is a major release that adds support for booting the Live DVD ISO image on any UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) machine, allowing users to select the EFI System partition (ESP) on which to install the OpenMandriva operating system. Additionally, it is now possible to install OpenMandriva on a GUID Partition Table (GPT) partitioned disk drive in BIOS mode by creating a BIOS boot partition.
