openSUSE Tumbleweed is always getting the latest GNU/Linux technologies and Open Source applications, and today we’re happy to inform you that the Linux 4.9 kernel finally made its way into the software repos of the distributions, along with cleaned up configuration settings for the Mesa 3D Graphics Library. That right there is great news for Linux gamers using openSUSE Tumbleweed as their go to desktop OS, as a combination between the latest Mesa 13 packages, Linux kernel 4.9, and X.Org Server 1.19 enables support for older AMD Radeon HD graphics cards from the Southern Islands / GNC 1.0 family, such as HD 7xxx or HD 8xxx.
