Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15 and 8.10 Get Linux Kernel 4.4.30 LTS, New Security Updates

Those of you who are using Debian GNU/Linux 8 “Jessie” probably know that new security updates were pushed last week in the repos, including for the cURL library and command-line tool for transferring data, Memcached distributed memory object caching system, BIND9 DNS implementation, and GNU Tar utility for creating tar archives. These are now available for Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15 and 8.10 users as well. Besides the latest cURL, GNU Tar, BIND9, and Memcached security updates, users of the Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15 “Nev” and Parsix GNU/Linux 8.10 “Erik” distributions also received the recently released, long-term supported Linux 4.4.30 kernel, which fixes a bug in Linux kernel 4.4.29 LTS and older kernels. Please note that after applying the new kernel update, you’ll need to reboot your computer for a proper installation.
