Powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.4 kernel series (Linux kernel 4.4.44 LTS ships with this first stable release of the new series) and based on the Debian GNU/Linux 8.7 “Jessie” software repositories, Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15r0 is shipping with the GNOME 3.22 desktop environment using the GNOME Shell 3.22.2 user interface. The pre-installed Linux 4.4.44 LTS kernel is patched with extra features, including TuxOnIce and BFS (Brain F*** Scheduler). The 64-bit edition of Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15r0 can be installed on modern UEFI computers, and the Live ISO images have been compressed using the latest XZ and SquashFS compression algorithms.
