“E-publisher ibooks.com announced this week a new service for
evaluating, purchasing and using online digital reference books
from leading industry publishers and technology companies.”

“The service, available at www.ibooks.com, allows users to
preview and purchase books and then store them on a personal
digital bookshelf, company officials said.”

“With ibooks.com’s ‘previewing’ technology, users can conduct
full-text searches of any page from a digital book within the
company’s bookstore to find specific information they need,
including diagrams and illustrations, officials added.”

“ibooks.com offers 1,500 IT reference books and ‘how to’
materials for IT professionals as well as several free titles from
publishers, including the full Linux Documentation Project in 12
digital books.”
