“I went to LinuxWorld a couple of weeks ago, not really knowing
what to expect. I was mildly shocked. The crowd there–full of
teenagers, some carrying skateboards in their backpacks and all
totally energized by the bustle–seemed the antithesis of the
relatively staid computing world. An eclectic bunch, I
thought.”

“If LinuxWorld represented a shift from the status quo, then
Microsoft doesn’t need to change its technology vision–it just
needs to loosen its already minimal dress code.”

“Don’t get me wrong: It’s great news that big-name vendors are
supporting Linux. No one should feel confined to a computer or an
operating system. But, really, there’s a long way to go before more
interesting applications wend their way to the Linux platform.”
