Peppermint Five is the latest release of the distribution formerly called Peppermint OS. Peppermint has always sought to combine the best of the cloud and the desktop. It does this by making it easy to run web-based applications in windows on your desktop, while also offering access to thousands of desktop applications that run locally on your computer.

Peppermint Five features a brand new Control Center to manage settings, as well as a rebuilt Ice SSB (Site Specific Browser) manager. Since it’s built on the Ubuntu 14.04 code base, Peppermint Five is also a long term support release.
