Plex Media Player aims to be the little sister project of the well-known Plex Media Center, which we have to admit that it’s one of the most appreciated and downloaded media center apps, besides Kodi, of course, which is open source. Believe it or not, Plex Media Player is based on the powerful MPV media player software, which in turn is based on the acclaimed MPlayer and mplayer2 projects.
