The biggest new features of Rhythmbox 3.4 are a new plugin that promises to let users remotely control the application via a web browser, a much-improved SoundCloud plugin that now fetches more search results and supports pausing, and the playback keyboard shortcuts were slightly improved. It also looks like the Grilo plugin has been updated to use Grilo 0.3.0 or later, the WebKit web browser engine is now longer used in the application due to OpenBSD’s W^X security feature, and various plugin data files and core components were compiled into binaries using the GResource API (Application Programming Interface).
