PHP[ARCHITECT] MAGAZINE RETURNING TO PRINT

php[architect] (http://www.phparch.com) is the longest running magazine dedicated to PHP – the web programming language behind WordPress, Drupal, and Magento and which powers 80% of the top 10 million websites (per Alexa), including Facebook. The magazine, currently available in digital formats only (PDF, ePUB, Mobi), will once again be available in a physical, printed format.

Started in 2002, the magazine began as a printed magazine, but in 2009, due to the rising costs of print as well as a desire to be more green, removed print circulation, going digital only. Printing was extremely wasteful, with large quantities printed to stock shelves worldwide and the inevitable extras discarded.

When php[architect]’s new owners, musketeers.me, LLC, acquired the brand at the beginning of 2013, the prime request received was to bring back the print edition of the magazine. While the future is digital consumption, a large number of people still prefer to consume magazine information in a printed format.

After much research, Print-On-Demand was chosen, allowing php[architect] to revive print while keeping the environmental impact down, creating only needed magazines.

The print subscription will cost $119 annually, including shipping within the U.S. (additional shipping charges will apply internationally) and also includes digital copies. Digital-only subscriptions will still be made available for $49 annually for those that prefer it.
