The Raspbian 2017-06-21 images are now available for download, and besides being synced with the upstream Debian GNU/Linux 8 “Jessie” repositories to include all the latest security and software updates, they add a couple of big new changes, such as the inclusion of an offline version of Scratch 2.0 and Thonny Python IDE. The Raspbian development has been working lately with the team behind the Scratch project to bring the Scratch Offline Editor to Raspberry Pi devices by wrapping up the web-based version of the Scratch editor, which is written in Flash, using the Electron open-source framework.
