18 Mar 2014 – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – Roaring Penguin Software Inc., the email filtering experts, makers of the acclaimed CanIt-PRO, CanIt-Domain-PRO, CanIt Archiver and Hosted CanIt anti-spam and email archiving solutions, announce the release of CanIt 9.1.2.

Major New Features include:

To help prevent phishing, CanIt can be set up to wrap URLs in email messages to take users to a landing page warning them not to supply sensitive information, such as social insurance numbers, passwords, credit cards, banking information, etc. The page identifies the geographic location of the site they are clicking to. They can then choose to click on a link to go to the original URL or to back out safely at this point. This can help reduce the success rate of phishing attacks and educate users about Internet security. Implementation of this feature is optional and controlled by the system administration team.

The Pending Notification email message can now be templated to a larger degree, permitting larger changes to the appearance and content than was possible before.
