Samsung Electronics started the sales of the much awaited Galaxy S8 and S8+ Android-powered smartphones in late April, and now, two and a half months later, it would appear that the South Korean electronics manufacturer sold 20 percent fewer devices than it sold last year with Galaxy S7. In numbers, Samsung sold 9.8 million Galaxy S8 and S8+ units in the first two months, which is about 20 percent less than the 12 million Galaxy 7 units sold last year. The analysts said for The Investor that the cause is mainly due to the highly saturated smartphone market, rather than the product’s quality.
