Skype 4.2.0.13 for Linux Fixes Ubuntu and Debian 64-bit Crashes

After approximately 8 months, Microsoft finally decided to update its Skype application for the Linux platform, bringing a highly anticipated workaround for the audio noise issues in the 3.x and 4.x branches of the PulseAudio sound server. In addition, Skype 4.2.0.13 is here to fix a crash that occurred on 64-bit versions of the Ubuntu and Debian Linux operating systems due to missing libasound2-plugins:i386 dependency, fix a rare crash that appeared when a chat was opened and a certain emoticon didn’t exist, as well as a fix for various numbers of the dialpad, which did not work properly.
