Some Btrfs vs Ext4 random-read/write performance observations

I’ve been using XFS as a very conservative file system option for years after having some bad experiences with BtrFS in the past. I decided to try BtrFS again as I’ve been doing more work lately involving thousands of small files. However, I didn’t really gain much in terms of performance before I gave Ext4 a try.
