KB selected the Spire Payments and SoNet solution for this fiercely competed contract based on multiple factors:

Comprehensive local service proposition provided by SoNet
In-country personal key injection (PKI) capabilities
payWave and PayPass certification of all devices (of particular note, portable: Wi-Fi)

Developed by SoNet, the certified application resides on the terminal range enabling EMV and contactless payments whilst providing additional functionality such as multi-currency cashback. Jan Pistelak, CEO of SoNet comments, ???These are truly exciting times for SoNet, and the introduction of the Spire Payments POS range to our solution portfolio provides a perfect platform to offer our customer base the latest payment technologies. The flexibility and ease by which the KB application was developed is testament to the capabilities and ease-of-use of the Linux-based software development kit (inSpire).???

Zdenek Bubak, Head of Central and Eastern Europe of Spire Payments adds, ???We are seeing an explosion of opportunity in the CEE region, especially for those acquirers faced with the challenge of replacing legacy terminal estates.
