Expo conference, but that doesn’t mean its presence isn’t
felt.”

October an internal Microsoft memo on Microsoft’s corporate
thinking about Linux, not a day has gone by without Linux advocates
wondering about Microsoft’s intended moves to combat the Linux
challenge to NT.”

“At its annual Microsoft Technical Briefing meeting held for its
salesforce and selected reseller partners in January, Microsoft CEO
Bill Gates gave attendees a glimpse of his thinking about Linux.
While he acknowledged the power of the Linux phenomenon, Gates
emphasized that he believes customers want more vendor control and
integration, not less.”
