“To test the following emulators I picked 4 games that I
remembered enjoying back in the day. Final Fight 3 and Alien 3 were
classics, Super Mario Kart is basically a given. I also tested
StarFox, which included the SuperFX chip.

“Bsnes is a SNES emulator that is under active development (in
fact a new release, v065, was just released a few days ago). The
Linux port is distributed as source code. Compiling the code is not
a huge task, and the bsnes website shows you the packages that you
need to install and the command you need to run to successfully
compile and install bsnes. That said though, it’s not as simple as
just downloading and running a precompiled binary.”
