GCompris is a free educational software for children from 2 to 10. It is well known by parents and teachers when it comes to GNU/Linux but it is also very popular on Windows.

Originally written in Gtk+ this project was started in 2000 and has been continuously improved all over the years.

The development team last year took the hard decision to rewrite GCompris in Qt Quick in order to be able to address the tablet and desktop users from a single code base. Now developed under the KDE community umbrella and after one year of work a first release has just been published on the Google play store.
