The road to the open-source and cross-platform Kodi 17 “Krypton” media center appears to be very long, and we might be able to get our hands on the final release sometime in spring 2017 if we’re lucky. Until then, the Kodi 17 Beta 7 release is here to address even more of the bugs reported by users since the Beta 6 milestone, as well as to update the Estouchy and Estuary skins and adds various improvements. Besides various interesting bug fixes, such as for a possible crash in PVR EPG, an issue with the wrong window size of Kodi on Mac OS X, duplicate context menu entries for PVR recordings, support for selecting multiple items in the file browser, or a problem on Windows platforms that would not allow the currently used skins to be updated, Kodi 17 Beta 7 enables IEC61937 audio passthrough support now enabled on Android.
