Distrowatch includes 311 in its active distribution database whereas Newell featured 35. He includes Debian, Gentoo, Slackware, Arch, and Red Hat in his list as well as those like Mageia, Puppy, and openSUSE in addition to those that are possibly “re-spins.” Participants were asked specifically which of these 35 they would save and allowed to chose as many as they wished. The distribution receiving the most save votes so far is Debian with 82% of the vote.
