Dubbed Quantal Quetzal, the new Ubuntu 12.10 operating system is the 17th release of the Ubuntu OS and it will be supported for two years, until April 2014, on both desktops and servers. Powered by Linux kernel 3.5 and the GNOME 3.6 desktop environment (with an enhanced Unity interface on top of it) the Ubuntu 12.10 release brings overall improvements, updated apps, and lots of new features.
