We can report today that Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) remains based on Linux kernel 4.0.5, despite the fact that Linux kernel 4.0.6 has been released a couple of days ago, and that it will be soon rebased on the recently released Linux 4.1 kernel. No, Ubuntu 15.10 won’t be an LTS release, but Linux kernel 4.1 is an LTS release, which means that the Wily Werewolf operating system will have a great kernel base that will be supported upstream with maintenance releases for the next two years.
