While Ubuntu 16.10 is not a very exciting release, as it only introduces a new kernel, systemd user sessions, an experimental Unity 8 session, various performance improvements to the Unity 7 interface, and many updated packages based on the old GNOME 3.20 Stack, some of you might consider it a worthy upgrade from a previous releases, such as Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus). System76, the US-based computer manufacturer specializing in the distribution of laptops, desktop and server computers powered by the Ubuntu Linux operating system, was quick to announce earlier on their official Twitter account that Ubuntu 16.10 is now available as an upgrade option for those running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) or a higher version.
