Following the tradition of naming upcoming Ubuntu release, Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth wrote a blog post today welcoming the Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) release and congratulating all those involved in its development process, and announcing the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS release as the “Bionic Beaver.” While Mark Shuttleworth didn’t actually reveal Canonical’s plans for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, except for the fact that more work will be put into Ubuntu Snappy Core system for IoT (Internet of Things) devices, it looks like the release schedule has been published suggesting the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS release date as April 26, 2018.
