Ubuntu MATE 16.10 Beta 1 is here as part of today’s Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) Beta launch, and it looks like it’s the most uninteresting Beta of the Ubuntu MATE operating system ever release, at least according to Martin Wimpress, who always likes to announce his lovely distribution with trumpets. Looking at the changelog, we can indeed see that there’s not much included in this first Beta release of Ubuntu MATE 16.10 (Yakkety Yak). Most of the work done since last month’s Alpha 2 build was to polish the GTK3+ support for the MATE desktop environment and most of the applications used in the operating system.
