Univention Corporate Server 4.2 Officially Released, Based on Debian 8 “Jessie”

Univention Corporate Server 4.2 entered developed in early February, and the biggest new change of this release is, of course, the switch to the latest Debian Stable repositories. In other words, the server-oriented operating system is now powered by the Debian GNU/Linux 8 “Jessie” series. As expected, this major change alone increases binary compatibility with Debian GNU/Linux and provides for faster updates. Additionally, it also switches to use systemd as default init system for any new installation, as well as for all users who choose to upgrade to Univention Corporate Server 4.2.
