“The rise of Linux in the marketplace as a backlash against
Windows NT has generated renewed interest in Unix, while commitment
to NT as an enterprise operating system (OS) has weakened.”

“While five years ago, few customers saw Unix as anything else
but a data centre OS, many now see it as a workhorse for mission

Gartner Group at Gartner’s Symposium in San Diego on Tuesday.”

“Over the next 36 months, Solaris and HP/UX will be the safest
ones to deploy for long term strategic enterprise use, claimed
Henkel.”
