It looks Xorg is staying, and that Canonical is putting a huge effort into mobile Ubuntu (especially for tablets). Unity 8 looks like it is off on the horizon somewhere, so don’t expect that in 14.04 either.
Assuming OMG! Ubuntu! is correct, it looks like Ubuntu 14.04 might be yet another ho-hum release.
