On April 21, Univention announced the new UCS Core Edition, a free version of its Linux Enterprise distribution Univention Corporate Server – also for corporate use.

The positive feedback on this was very high. Many companies and cloud service providers can now use UCS as a platform for the management of their enterprise IT for free without restrictions.

In his latest blog entry, Univention’s CEO, Peter Ganten, explains the reasons
for this new edition and also refers to his vision of making IT easily combinable.
