Wired: MPAA Sues to Stop DeCSS Linking

“The Motion Picture Association of America is taking another
shot at silencing 2600.com publisher Eric Corley, aka Emmanuel
Goldstein.”

“On Wednesday, the MPAA filed a complaint in district court in
New York requesting a second injunction against Corley, this time
to stop the his 2600 Enterprises websites from linking to hundreds
of sites with the DVD encryption-busting DeCSS program….”

“John McNelis, a partner in the intellectual property group of
Fenwick and West, said a court decision that forces a site to
remove mere links to information would have major implications,
because it makes one site responsible for the content of an
unrelated site.
