Xubuntu 13.10 Beta 1 comes with a new utility called GTK Theme Config, designed to allow users to change their theme’s colors easily, as well as a brand-new version of the Xfce4 Settings package, which features a new dialog to set up your displays. The first Beta release of Xubuntu 13.10 also introduces updated versions of the included GTK themes, which bring long-awaited GTK 3.8 support, fixing lots of visual bugs. Last but not least, Xubuntu 13.10 Beta 1 fixes the theme of the LightDM greeter and switches to the 3.11.0.4 Ubuntu Linux kernel, which is based on the upstream Linux 3.11 RC7 kernel.
