“When networking Linux computers, it has been my experience that
Static IP addresses work out better than DHCP dynamic IP addresses.
So the first thing to do is set up the LAN side of your router and
your computers with Static IP addresses. To do this, you will need
to know the computer names and MAC address of all your computers.
Ala the old television series Drag Net, the computer names and MAC
addresses in this article have been changed to protect the
innocent.
