“Satan (Security Administrator’s Tool for Analyzing Networks) is
a browser-based tool for analyzing security vulnerabilities in
networked computers and was written by Wietse Venema and Dan
Farmer.”

modifications to the documented installation procedure. Although
other written works discuss how to build Satan on Linux (see
Resources), they are somewhat dated. This article attempts to
provide an updated procedure for building Satan on Linux. RedHat
Linux 5.2 (with updates) was used for all development and
testing.”
