“Just weeks after Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND) announced plans
to partner with Hewlett-Packard Company to provide businesses with
the tools they need to digitally send and receive paper documents
via the Internet, Extended Systems reported today a major product
roll out to over 70 business centers throughout Southern
California.”

“Through an arrangement with L.A.-based The Virtual Network
Company, Extended Systems and HP will supply more than 50 AIM mail
centers and 20 independent business centers in Southern California
with a mail solution package that offers their customers digital
sending capabilities via the Internet….”

“The ExtendNet 4000 Internet appliance server enables small- and
medium-size businesses to establish effective online presence.
ExtendNet 4000 uses the open-source Linux operating system to
provide easy integration and support of Internet-based applications
and products, like the HP Digital Sender, and brings businesses
e-mail capabilities, Web publishing and firewall
security.
