CRN: Novell Breaks NetWare Secrecy

“At Novell’s U.S.-based annual user group conference, Chris
Stone, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development,
revealed the company would release core protocols for the company’s
flagship network operating system, NetWare, to computer
programmers.”

“However, Stone said Novell will not release any
security-related protocols, which are key components of NetWare and
NDS. “The company has always had this fear people would re-engineer
NetWare. Who would want to do that?” Stone said.”
