Package : flim
Vulnerability : insecure temporary file
Problem-Type : local
Debian-specific: no
CVE Ids : CAN-2004-0422

Tatsuya Kinoshita discovered a vulnerability in flim, an emacs
library for working with internet messages, where temporary files
were created without taking appropriate precautions. This
vulnerability could potentially be exploited by a local user to
overwrite files with the privileges of the user running emacs. the
‘chroot’ option.

For the current stable distribution (woody) this problem has
been fixed in version 1.14.3-9woody1.

For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem will be fixed
soon.

We recommend that you update your flim package.

Package : rsync
Vulnerability : directory traversal
Problem-Type : remote
Debian-specific: no
CVE Ids : CAN-2004-0426

A vulnerability was discovered in rsync, a file transfer

files outside of the intended directory tree. This vulnerability is
not exploitable when the daemon is configured with the ‘chroot’
option.

For the current stable distribution (woody) this problem has
been fixed in version 2.5.5-0.4.

For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem has been fixed
in version 2.6.1-1.

We recommend that you update your rsync package.
