“Once again, last week’s headlines were inundated with
security-related articles. Most of the stories appearing in
newspapers and on the television covered the “ILOVEYOU” virus/worm
speculation.
On May 3rd, “ILOVEYOU” protection advice for
sendmail was posted to bugtraq.”

“A few good articles including “Linux Workstation Security
Primer”, “GNU Privacy Guard Tutorial”, and “IDing remote hosts
without them knowing” were released last week. Many of us are glad
to see that the Red Hat Piranha issue is cooling down. This
vulnerability re-ignited a discussion of the merit of open source
and security. Red Hat’s Bob Young quickly responded to the open
source bashing by writing the article “Open Source is Here to
Stay!””
