This week, several interesting papers were released. “Using
Postfix for Secure SMTP Gateways,” by Mick Bauer and Brenno de
Winter, is particularly helpful to administrators new to
postfix.
Also, if you’re new to constructing firewalls, “A Few
Recipes for Easier Firewalls,” may provide the information that you
are looking for.”

“Our feature this week, “Security Scanners,” by Kapil Sharma,
discusses the importance of using scanners to detect weaknesses in
your network. He introduces host scanners, network scanners,
intrusion detection, and firewall penetration tests. This article
provides a good introduction to all of the major scanning software
available.”

“Webmasters, our advisory and news feed is available in RDF
format. We invite you to use and customize our feed to provide
up-to-date security content on your website.”
