“Citrix Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of an
enhanced Macintosh client based on its Independent Computing
Architecture (ICA), the emerging industry standard for server-based
computing. When used in conjunction with Citrix MetaFrame and
WinFrame server-based software, the new client enables users to
extend the reach of Windows-based applications to a broader range
of Macintosh devices. The Macintosh ICA client, which offers
improved security through the SOCKS proxy protocol and other new
features, gives organisations the flexibility and independence to
rapidly access the latest Windows-based applications.
The Macintosh ICA Client can be downloaded at no charge from
Citrix’s website at www.citrix.com.”
“Citrix ICA clients support… Microsoft Windows (16 and
32-bit), Sun Solaris, Sun OS, SCO, HP-UX, IBM AIX, Compaq Tru 64
(formerly DIGITAL UNIX), Linux, SGI IRIX, Windows CE and
Java-enabled devices. The Macintosh ICA client supports
Motorola and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers, as well as other
devices running the Macintosh operating system version 7.x and
higher.”
