“Hal [Polmeranz], owner of Deer-Run Associates, posted the
slides from his excellent presentation entitled, ‘Simple Unix
Tricks: Spotting Break-ins.’

“The presentation is geared toward the busy administrator who
has more to do than track security on his or her servers. Hal opens
his presentation with a few quick, native commands that you can run
on the system to smartly detect potential exploits.

“Hal then goes even further; by the end of the presentation you
walk away with a holistic view of security with your Unix/Linux
system. Hal’s presentation is like having a guided tour in the
battle of security from the ‘ground troop’ operations level to a
commanding General’s view in 90 minutes…!”
