Packet Storm Security and the Trinux: A Linux Security Toolkit
come together to form OpenSEC:
Open Security Solutions
.

Initially only tools index, OpenSEC will continue to add
resources to support the development, distribution, and deployment
of free and Open Source security tools.

Why another index? – Freshmeat, LinuxApps, et
al. are not organized around the core security technologies nor are
they maintained by security professionals.

Why another security tools site? – Many of the
Classics (COAST, CIAC, etc.) are starting to show their age and do
not reflect the latest tool development, especially for Linux.

Why now? – If you follow Packet Storm or
BUGTRAQ you already know that development of Open Source security
tools has exploded in the last 6 months. Nearly a dozen new or
updated security tools are released each week. OpenSEC allows you
to keep up.
