“Open-source security will gain new favor in the enterprise this
week as Intel Corp.’s Intel Architecture Labs opens the source code
for its CDSA security software….”

“CDSA, or Common Data Security Architecture, is a middleware
product that connects applications to Intel security services, such
as encryption/decryption, authentication, public-key services and
biometrics, without the need to build or retrofit the security into
the application itself….”

“CDSA runs on Windows and most Unix variants; that code will be
made open source next month. IAL also will optimize CDSA for
Intel’s forthcoming Itanium processor and will release a Linux
version in August
, officials said.”
