“eSoft Inc., the company that develops and markets the
award-winning Interceptor and InstaGate appliance products, today
announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce has granted them
permission to export stronger versions of its firewall and virtual
private network (VPN) technology to international markets. This
initiative allows eSoft to provide customers worldwide with
encryption strength that is identical to that available in the
United States and Canada, and is much more robust than the
encryption technology currently being offered internationally.
Shipments of the enhanced versions of Interceptor and InstaGate to
international customers will begin immediately.”

“eSoft applauds the liberalization of cryptography export
regulations that has allowed us to take this step,” said Jeff Finn,
president and CEO of eSoft. “We are very excited to be leading the
way in providing reliable, state-of-the-art network security
solutions to our customers worldwide.”

With this development, international customers are now able
to securely manage their Interceptor and InstaGate appliances and
set up virtual private networks using the same encryption strength
(up to 168 bit keys) that was previously available only to
customers in the United States and Canada. International customers
were previously limited to encryption based on 56 bit
keys.

“eSoft Inc. was founded in 1984 with headquarters in Broomfield,
Colo. eSoft provides a family of Linux-based Internet appliances
and services that enable business to harness the full power of the
Internet.”
